School transport – apply early and don’t miss the bus

[P]arents of school pupils starting primary school in September 2016 or transferring from primary to secondary after the summer are being reminded that they have just over two weeks left to make an application for home to school transport.

Cumbria County Council provides free school transport to eligible pupils, but needs to have all applications in by 30 June 2016 to enable the School Transport Team to assess whether a child has an entitlement to transport, plan provision and to inform parents of the outcome before the start of the 2016/2017 academic year.

Further information on eligibility and an online application form are available on the county council’s website  Alternatively you can contact the school transport team on 0333 240 6965 or via email: [email protected]
