Graham Lamont, chief executive of multi-award winning firm Lamont Pridmore, has had a busy year in 2016 having acted as a judge at three of this year’s most prestigious professional awards.
More accustomed to his practice being judged – having won more than a dozen awards in the last 12 months – to conducting the judging himself, Graham was delighted to be invited to assist with the assessment of this year’s British Accountancy Awards, Taxation Awards and the AccountingWEB Practice Excellence Awards.
These are all three of the UK’s most prestigious financial services awards and receive thousands of entries submitted each year .Lamont Pridmore is one of only a handful of British accountancy firms to have received an award from each of these ceremonies in the past.
Using this experience Graham, with the help of the other judges at each of the competitions, has had to whittle down to a shortlist of the country’s best firms.
Speaking on his various judging appointments, Graham said: “This year I have had the honour of acting as a judge at some of the UK’s top professional awards. The quality of entries and the results contained within have been very impressive and show that the UK financial services sector is stronger than ever.
“Having personally won a number of awards and received awards on behalf of my practice in the past it was very interesting to experience being on the other side of the table, so to speak, and it was a pleasure to be judging alongside some of the UK’s top business leaders.”
Having judged the awards, Graham will now attend each ceremony to celebrate the success of his peers, the first of which recently took place in London where he congratulated entrants of the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2016.
Chris Lamont, Partner at Lamont Pridmore, added: “I think Graham’s selection as a judge speaks volumes about his position in the world of accountancy and finance, he was recently recognised as the 40th most influential financial professional in the UK, but it also highlights the success of the firm over the last three decades.”
