People try sailing and windsurfing at Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre

image1[A] total of 42 people, went out on the water to Try Sailing at Windermere on Wednesday 29 June.

They took advantage of a superb evening to get out in sailboats and on windsurfers under the guidance of experienced instructors.

There were 68 taster sessions run during the session with 26 of the visitors trying out both sailing and windsurfing.

The taster sessions are supported by the RYA. Adam McGovern, RYA Regional Development Officer for the North West said: “It was a great evening with people coming from a wide area. One person even travelled from Preston, about 50 miles away. The weather had been awful until about half an hour before the event was scheduled and then it calmed down and the sun came out.

“Many of those who came along have now signed up for lessons at the centre.”
