Wigton man admits knife crime

A MAN who committed a knife crime in Wigton will be sentenced by a judge later this month.

Thomas Robert Miller, 21, was charged with possessing the bladed article following an incident at the town’s West Street. This occurred on 6th March.

Miller pleaded guilty to the offence during a short hearing before Judge Peter Davies at Carlisle Crown Court.

Background information was sought by Judge Davies, and he adjourned the case until 25th July.

Miller, of Greenacres, Wigton, is due to learn his fate on that date, and was granted bail in the meantime.

But he was told by the judge that all sentencing options, including custody, were open.
