Carlisle man admits child sex images charge

A Carlisle man has admitted possessing over 2,000 indecent images of children and extreme porn.

Andrew Burgess, 57, appeared from custody, he faced a total of six various sexual offences dated between November 21, 2013 and April 17, 2014, he pleaded guilty to all the charges.

The offences include a number of making an indecent image, possession of a prohibited image of children, and a charge of possession of extreme pornographic images, there are over 2,000 indecent images within the charges the court was told.

Burgess should have attended the magistrates court on Monday, but failed to attend.

Burgess of Ridley Road, Currock, was remanded in custody until August 8 when he will be sentenced by a judge at Carlisle Crown Court, he was also requested to sign the sexual offenders register.
