Cat rescued from Carlisle car engine

[A] cat has been rescued after becoming trapped in a car engine on Randall Street in Carlisle.

At 12:09am today, Wednesday 13 July firefighters attended an animal rescue involving a cat trapped in the undercarriage of a vehicle.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “The vet in attendance sedated the animal and crews used chocks and blocks and a vehicle jack to allow the vet to extricate the cat.

“Crews were engaged at the scene for 35 minutes.”
