Woman hurt in Buttermere lakeshore path fall

Callout_Buttermere Lake Shore_CopyrightCockermouthMountainRescueTeam_20160715_OnlyToBeUsedInRelationToThisIncident[C]ockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called to a 65-year-old woman from Leeds who slipped and fell from the Buttermere lakeshore path near Hassness House.

She fell approximately 3 metres onto rocks on the lake shore, sustaining a back injury.

Her husband raised the alarm and called the team.

A spokesman for Cockermouth MRT said: “Team members treated the lady at the scene and stretchered her to Hassness House from where she was transferred to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle by road ambulance.

“18 team members attended.”
