Carlisle knife man jailed

[A] JUDGE has jailed a man for committing his second knife crime in seven months.

Christopher Cooke, 36, was stopped by police while driving a van in Carlisle during the early hours of 23rd May. He was found to have a lock knife concealed in his sock.

Cooke pleaded guilty to possessing the bladed article and was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today (TUES).

He was said to have committed the offence while subject to a previous court order. This was imposed for threatening a man with a knife last October.

Cooke, of Gelt Road, Brampton, was given a 10-month prison sentence by Judge Peter Davies.

An order was made for the blade to be forfeited and destroyed.
