Woman arrested after baby found in Blackpool park

[A] woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a baby was found in a park in Blackpool.

At around 7am this morning (Sunday, July 24) officers received a report that a member of public had found an eleven month old baby girl in an upturned pram in Watson Road Park.

Following extensive enquiries the baby’s mother was traced at an address in the town, along with her six-year-old daughter.

The baby and the six-year-old girl have been checked over and are safe and well.

A 43-year-old woman from Blackpool has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and is currently in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing.
