Police investigate as body found at Middle Gelt Bridge

[A] male body has been found today (29th July 2016) on the A689 at the Middle Gelt Bridge, between Hayton and Talkin.

The body of a white male, in his twenties was located by a member of the public at around 6:50am this morning.

Officers are working to identify the man and enquiries are also ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to his death.

His death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious at this time.

The Coroner will be informed.
