PizzaExpress is celebrating the launch of its exciting new look restaurant in Carlisle. The Lowther Street restaurant has been totally transformed and includes new artwork drawing inspiration from the building’s heritage as a bank.
Each PizzaExpress restaurant is individually designed – often using well known places, people or historical events from the area as the basis. The artwork at Carlisle comprises framed canvasses with imagery of old bank vaults, cheque book slips and money. Original 1930s typewriters are also displayed.
The new look also includes a refreshed paint scheme in conjunction with colourful feature pendant lights and comfortable leather upholstered banquette seating.
Manager, Jamie Chandler, said, “We love our restaurant’s new look and have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza.”
PizzaExpress has been dishing up fresh, handmade pizza to Carlisle since 2000. The refurbishment coincides with the launch of three new specials to celebrate the summer of sport in Brazil. The Barbacoa Romana pizza offers a taste of Brazil’s famous dry rubbed barbecue. Back by customer demand is the Eton Mess Cheesecake, this time with the addition of a layer of dulce de leche, a traditional Latin American treat, made from sweetened milk. Also bringing a taste of the tropics is a zesty drink based on passionfruit, native to Brazil.
For younger pizza-lovers, the PizzaExpress’ Piccolo menu is full of tasty choices including ‘Create Your Own’ pizza, and starts at just £3.95. And for budding chefs looking to celebrate a birthday, a Pizza Making Party will see them transformed into pizzaiolos so they can stretch, toss and top their own pizza and play party games before sitting down to enjoy their culinary creations.
