A man had died following a road crash on the A710 in Dumfries on Sunday 7 August 2016.
Around 1510 hours on Sunday 7 August 2016, Police were called to a report of a crash involving a BMW 1 series and a Yamaha motorbike on the A710 at Mainsriddle, Southerness, Dumfries.
Emergency services attended and the 24 year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
He can now be named as Calum McMorrin of Kirkintilloch.
Relatives are aware.
The 39 year-old woman who was driving the BMW was uninjured.
A full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
Sergeant Paul Dodds from the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Castle Douglas Police Office is appealing for information. He said:
“Enquiries are continuing into this crash and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or who was driving on the A710 near to Mainsriddle, Southerness, Dumfries around the time of the crash to contact police as they may have information that will assist our investigation.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was travelling on the A710 prior to the collision occurring who has a dash-cam fitted to their vehicle, to contact us as this may also help us establish the circumstances which led to the crash.”
