Police name man who died after A591 crash

[P]olice can confirm that the man who died following the A591 collision on Saturday (August 6th) has been identified as Ken Townson, 90, of Bolton-le-Sands, Lancashire.

Mr Townson was a passenger in a Vauxhall Astra which collided with a Honda Jazz on the A591 at Ings.

He was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where he died on Monday (August 8th). The 56-year-old driver of the Astra remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The 81-year-old driver of the Honda died at the scene.

Mr Townson’s family said: “”Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad you will be sadly missed.

“We will treasure every memory and you will remain in our hearts and thoughts always.”

Specially trained officers are supporting the family at this time.
