Britain’s Energy Coast will move its headquarters to Cleator Moor later this year following the addition of a new property to its portfolio.
The team at BEC completed the purchase of the old Trade Board building on Cleator Moor High Street last month and will relocate the HQ team in the Autumn. The property was previously occupied by Safety Critical.
Nine BEC team members will make the move to Cleator Moor and the space currently occupied by BEC HQ will be available to rent on the park. The move will involve the sympathetic, and environmentally friendly, regeneration of the building by local firms.
“The purchase of the Trade Board building makes a great deal of sense to BEC,” explains CEO Michael Pemberton. “In the first instance it allows our HQ team to become a greater part of a Cumbrian community, increasing our direct engagement with those we serve. It also allows us to increase the footprint of our property portfolio and free up space that is in high demand at Westlakes.”
The move follows BEC’s transition to a fully commercial organisation in 2016 and a comprehensive organisation review. Michael concluded: “We are starting an exciting and sustainable chapter at BEC and the office move will provide additional space for our team to flourish.”
