Whitehaven man assaulted and harassed woman

[A] WEST Cumbria man is due to be sentenced by a judge next month for assaulting and harassing a woman.

Liam McGoldrick, 29, appeared before Recorder Kevin Grice at Carlisle Crown Court this morning (WED). He pleaded guilty to a common assault on Rachel Holm between 15th and 18th May last year.

At a previous court hearing he admitted harassing Miss Holm by sending a handwritten letter, along with unwanted text and private Facebook messages.

Recorder Grice adjourned the case for the probation service to prepare a background report on McGoldrick, of Bowness Road, Greenbank, Whitehaven.

McGoldrick is set to be sentenced at the crown court on 15th September, and was bailed in the meantime.

A condition of his bail is that he must not contact Miss Holm in any way.
