Woman critical after falling from 8th floor flat in Preston

POLICE have launched an investigation after a woman apparently fell from a block of flats in Preston.

Emergency services were called to Sandown Court in Avenham at shortly before 8am today (Friday, August 26th) after a 25-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after falling from an 8th floor apartment.

She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital where her condition is described as critical.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “The incident is currently being treated as unexplained. A 29-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

“We have extra patrols in the area to act as reassurance.

“Inquiries are continuing.”
