Three arrested after theft at Solfest


Three people have been arrested following theft of cash, vouchers and a mobile phone from a tent at Solfest.

The theft is believed to have occurred at some point between 2am and 11.30am on Friday 26th August.

Following enquiries police have today (27th August) arrested a 36-year old man from Maryport, a 28-year-old woman from Maryport and a 25-year-old man from Whitehaven on suspicion of theft. All three have been detained for questioning.

Police would like to appeal to festival-goers to ensure that they keep valuables on them and not leave them in an unattended tent. Police would also like to ask those at the festival to check for any missing property and remain vigilant.

Anyone who would like to report a crime or has any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact police on 101.

Festival-goers can also report any thefts to site security.
