Biker killed in Shap collision

[A] motorcyclist has died after coming off his bike on the A6 near Shap.

Emergency services were called to the incident near the junction of the B6261 at 9:40am today, Monday 29 August.

A 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicle was involved.

The road was closed for several hours whilst collision investigators examined the scene, but has now reopened.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
