Urgent appeal for volunteers

guide-dog[G]uide Dog’s My Guide project is a ground breaking service that helps people with sight loss to get out and about on their own terms.

We need several volunteers who can give up an hour or so a week for at least 12 weeks to do something sociable and fun with a number of our clients who are waiting to access the My Guide service, particularly in Carlisle, Wigton, Cockermouth, Workington, and Ulverston.

Just one hour or so of your time can make a huge difference to a person who is blind or partially sighted helping them to be active in their local communities and make the most of life.

Previous activities have involved everything from bowling, to bingo to archery or simply just shopping and a cuppa but all have been great fun for both the volunteer and My Guide service user.

Full training and support is given.

To find out more about how just an hour of your time could transform someone’s life and help them do the things they want to contact Mike Dooley on 08453727423 or [email protected]
