[A]ll who are interested in the current facilities and the future of St Bees School are invited to meet the Trustees of St Bees School on Saturday 24th September, between 1pm and 4pm. A “drop in” will take place in the Business Management Centre (the Whitelaw Building), where there will be an opportunity to hear more about what is being done to sustain the site during this interim period, and what longer term plans are developing.
Mark George, Chair of Trustees, will be giving a brief presentation at 1pm and 2.30pm. These will be followed by the opportunity to ask questions, and to chat to more members of the Board and staff.
In the reception area of the Whitelaw Building, there will be information on facilities that are now open for community, business and special event use. Staff will be on hand to chat and answer questions.
Trustees are also calling for help and inspiration from community and local business! They aim to utilise facilities as much as possible while options for re-establishing education are explored. Tom Kelly, Clerk to the Trustees, will be gathering ideas on the day.
The Trustees are delighted that so many have already expressed interest in the drop in event, and look forward to seeing everyone. The Parish Council is also holding an event in Memorial Hall to showcase what goes on in St Bees.
