Carlisle crash sparks vehicle blaze

[A]t 9:48pm yesterday, Tuesday 21 September firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Roman Road in Carleton, Carlisle.

On arrival, they found one motor vehicle had been involved in a road traffic collision with another car and was well alight.

The other car was leaking fuel.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used one hose reel jet to put out the fire in the car and an absorbent pad to tackle the oil from the other, which was spilling onto the road.”
