South Lakeland MP Tim Farron cut the ribbon to officially reopen Sedbergh Post Office following its modernisation and refurbishment.

The Post Office, based inside Penny Black store at 24 Main Street in Sedbergh has been refurbished and now has longer opening hours. The new store and Post Office opening times are from 7am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am – 12.30pm on Saturday.

Tim said: “I welcome the news that Sedbergh Post Office has been refurbished as a bright modern branch. I was delighted to congratulate Peter and Gaynor Jackson on their hard work and to formally declare Penny Black and the new-look Sedbergh Post Office open.

“The Post Office is vital to the community around Sedbergh and I’m sure the new improved office, with its longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by all the local people. This will also be a big bonus for the town, giving local people easy access to important local services.”
