Holker Hall in Cark-In-Cartmel is preparing for its largest ever Winter Market in 13 years, with 80 stalls already confirmed.
From small beginnings back in 2004, the Winter Market has grown in popularity with both exhibitors and the general public. “We’re thrilled to see that this event is thriving and that businesses are booking stalls as it’s a really popular date on our event calendar for visitors. We always find there’s a lovely atmosphere across the weekend as people are getting in that Christmas spirit and want to find something a little more unusual for gifts and stocking fillers,” comments Jillian Rouse, Head of Visitor Services.
Visit Holker Hall in Cark-in-Cartmel, Cumbria this winter and find seasonal fun for all the family including the annual Winter Market. Set in the Holker Courtyard with braziers roaring and a warming cup of mulled wine in hand – it’s the perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping early; the Winter Market showcases the best produce on offer for the winter season. Stock up on crafts, artisanal food, home wares and decorations. Watch street entertainers including Andy Jester – stiltwalking and performing circus skills with children. Watch Juggling Inferno perform spectacular fire eating stunts on both days, and listen to live music from Palladium Quartet.
New for 2016 – Holker welcomes mobile kitchen – The Liver Cottage. The comedy chefs – Hugh Fearn and Lee Whittingstall present a cookery demonstration like no other. As the mobile kitchen garden moves through the crowds they create ‘fusion food on the move’, blending home grown ingredients with food foraged from the corner shop, the streets and of course the audience.
