New Workington Bus Shelters Officially Open

img_3-picture[T]he new bus shelters on Derwent Drive, Workington were officially opened today.

In an opening ceremony that took place at 2pm on Wednesday 19th October 2016, The Mayor of Workington, Joan Wright and Councillor Alan Barry, Cumbria County Council, cut the ribbon to officially open the two new bus shelters.

Councillor Alan Barry said: “This is an important partnership between Cumbria County Council and Workington Town Council and we are so pleased we have been able to provide these much needed bus shelters for the community.”

Mayor of Workington, Joan Wright added: “It is great that we can work together to serve the community. The bus shelters were installed by Cumbria County Council and will be maintained by Workington Town Council.”
