Elderly pedestrian dies in hospital after A6 collision

[A] pensioner has died in hospital after he was struck by a car on the A6.

Police were called to a collision at Levens Hall, Cumbria at approx 8:40pm on Tuesday 6 December.

The collision involved a white Kia Picanto and an 83-year-old male pedestrian from Kendal.

The man was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary but sadly died yesterday morning, Friday 9 December.

His family have been informed.

The 34-year-old driver of the car was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PC 1567 Jackson at Cumbria Police on 101.
