Police name woman who died in A69 collision

[P]olice have confirmed that the woman who died in yesterday’s collision (14th December) was Eva Rigg, aged 92, of Aglionby, Carlisle.

The collision happened at 5pm, on the A69 at Aglionby, Carlisle, and involved Eva Rigg (a pedestrian) and a Honda CBF 1000 motorcycle. Eva Rigg was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist, a 65 year old man from Carlisle, was taken to CIC with minor injuries.

The road was closed whilst forensic collision investigation work was carried out.

The family of Eva have released the following statement: “Eva lived a long and happy life and will be sadly missed by all.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or stopped after the collision at the scene is asked to call 101 and speak to PC1410 Benzie or Sgt1929 Bainbridge of the Mobile Support Group.
