Workington man charged with murder of Daniel McMullen

[A] man has been charged with murder after a man died in Workington yesterday, Saturday 7 January.

Police were called at 7.33am to reports of a man injured at a property on Beech Court. The man was pronounced dead shortly after by paramedics.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in the Northside area of Workington. He was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: “Calvin Patrickson, 22, of Newlands Gardens, Workington, has been charged with the murder of Daniel McMullen.

“Detectives and officers are working hard to establish what has happened and are currently carrying out enquiries in the area.

“We would like to reassure the public that there is no perceived threat to the public.”

Patrickson will appear at court tomorrow (Monday).
