A WORKINGTON man facing a murder charge has appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.
Calvin James Patrickson, 22, is accused of killing 29-year-old Daniel McMullen in the town on January 7.
Appearing over a video link from custody today (WED), Patrickson did not enter a plea to the allegation he faces.
Wearing a prison issue open-necked shirt, he spoke only to confirm his name and to say he could hear the court proceedings clearly. He was represented by barrister Kim Whittlestone.
During the 10-minute hearing, a trial date was provisionally listed by Judge Peter Davies for June 26.
Patrickson, of Newlands Gardens, Workington, was told he must attend a further hearing at the crown court – also by video link – ahead of that date. This is due to take place in either March or April.
In the meantime Patrickson was remanded in custody by Judge Davies.
Mr McMullen was found injured at a property in Beech Court, Workington, on Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead a short time late by paramedics.
