[A] COCAINE supplier who boasted that he could provide the illegal drug “in bulk” has been jailed for almost five years.

Richard Lee Maurice Bennett, 24, was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).

He had admitted supplying cocaine, between January and May last year, and possessing the class A substance with intent to supply it.

Bennett was brought to justice after police executed a warrant and raided his home at Beck Green, Egremont, on May 4. He was found inside, along with £560 cash and cocaine – some of it with a 78 per cent purity – which was valued at just over £1,000.

Phone evidence showed Bennett had been supplying the drug “in sufficient quantity” over a period of up to five months.

In one message, the cocaine user – a man with a troubled past and mental health issues – stated: “Anyone interested in bulk, giz a shout.”

Bennett was jailed for four years and eight months by Judge Barbara Forrester.
