[F]or those regular watchers of Create & Craft TV, and for crafty types everywhere, John Bloodworth will be a familiar face, with over 10,000 broadcast hours on the UK’s premiere crafting TV channel.

John, aka The Gentleman Crafter, is a presenter, designer and blogger who is currently embarking on a nationwide All Counties Craft Challenge to raise money for mental health charity Mind; travelling the length and breadth of the country he has been hosting craft workshops from Land’s End to John O’ Groats with the aim of visiting every one of the 92 historic counties of the UK, plus a few outlying islands!

On 12 February John will be making his Cumbrian stop-off in his Create & Craft camper van, at Florence Arts Centre in Egremont.

He’ll be hosting a craft workshop in the arts centre’s Gallery space to make a mixed media working clockface, teaching you his techniques and having fun along the way!

This is his only Cumbrian appearance and spaces are limited so make sure you book early to avoid missing out – places are £30 per person and all materials are provided, plus he’s raising money for a cause close to his heart.

It is fair to say that his own life has been turned upside down by mental health issues in recent years, with severe depression and general anxiety disorder making day-to-day life a genuine struggle, but Mind were there for John and have been an outstanding resource and support mechanism through it all.

Through his work and his blog John has also heard many similar stories from individuals around the world. John decided to take on this challenge in order to give something back and to help Mind help others who have been affected by similar issues with the added bonus of sharing the calming, focusing and ultimately beneficial properties of a creative hobby along the way.

To book a place on the workshop visit John’s blog at https://gentlemancrafter.com where you can also donate directly to John’s fundraising via his JustGiving page.
