Carlisle to host The Local Food Show

carlisle food show[C]arlisle will play host to an exciting cross border event on March 23rd 2017.

The Local Food Show will showcase the best of local produce from Cumbria, Northumbria and South West Scotland.

The event will be held at H & H Bordermart and will aim to attract members of the public as well as the tourism industry, hoteliers, B&B owners, public sector organisations and schools.

The event will include breakout sessions covering a wide selection of topics from how to compile a menu to the use of social media in business. There will also be a number of cookery demonstrations throughout the day.

The Local Food Show team said: “It is fantastic that so many of our local producers have signed up to showcase the best of what our region has to offer in food and drink. This is a real cross border initiative and it demonstrates that the ‘buy local’ message is strong. We want to strengthen links between the tourism industry, public sector organisations and local producers. It is important that local producers can engage with larger organisations and this is the purpose of this event.”

The event’s main sponsors are Armstrong Watson, McVities, Nestle, Bendles Solictors Lakeland Hampers and Carlisle City Council. University of Cumbria, D & G Food and Cumbria Tourism are supporting the event which has been created by Ivention.
