Police appeal for potential victim following Carlisle sex assault allegation

Police in Carlisle are appealing for a woman who spoke with officers regarding an allegation of sexual assault to make contact.

In the early hours of Sunday 29th January police received a third-party report of sexual assault. Officers spoke with a woman outside Dempsey’s Bar on Warwick Road regarding the incident that she was the alleged victim to. The woman did not supply any details and police would like to speak to her in order to assist with their enquiries.

Police are also appealing to members of the public who may have information with this enquiry or are able to identify the woman concerned.

The female is believed to be in her late twenties, wearing a white dress and was last seen walking down Botchergate towards Portland Place.

Any victim can be reassured that their case will be investigated professionally and sensitively.
