Four teenagers hurt after man dies in Carlisle collision

[P]olice have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Carlisle.

The Carlisle teenager is currently at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and in a stable condition.

Police were called yesterday (31st January) at 5.53pm following a collision on Dalston Road, near Pirelli, between a car and four pedestrians.

A 59-year-old man, who was driving a Ford Fiesta, died in hospital.

The three other pedestrians, all males from Carlisle, aged 17, 17 and 16 respectively, suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary.

A passenger in the car, a 49-year-old woman from Carlisle, suffered minor injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101 in order to assist with their enquiries.
