Car takes out Penrith zebra crossing

16522121_10209016933756137_815491542_oA car has crashed into a zebra crossing on Scotland Road in Penrith tonight demolishing the pole with the classic amber flashing light.

Cumbria Police said they were called at 7:28pm tonight, Monday 6 February.

The ‘zebra’ pole was completely flattened by the impact.

16593615_10209016933716136_512818424_oA spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “No one was injured and no arrests have been made, the driver was spoken to at scene.

“Cumbria County Council attended the scene to make lamppost safe.”
