Police appeal for CCTV after woman attacked in Carlisle

Police are appealing for members of the public or taxi drivers with CCTV as part of an assault investigation.

Officers in Carlisle are investigating an attack on a lone female that occurred around 8pm on Friday (February 3rd), at Harraby Green Road.

An unknown man in a silver coloured car was parked at the bottom of Hilltop Heights, before driving to Harraby Green Road where he shouted at a 27-year-woman. He then left his vehicle and assaulted the female before returning to the car and driving off at speed on to London Road, towards Botchergate.

The victim was walking from the direction of the city centre along London Road, past the ARC car wash towards Harraby Green at the time of the assault.

The suspect was described as a white male, aged 40s – 50s, of stocky build, with a bald head.

Police are also appealing for members of the public with private CCTV or any taxis that have CCTV that were present along London Road between Botchergate and Harraby Green Road between 7-8pm.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to the incident, anyone who may have heard a female screaming, or anyone who saw any silver coloured vehicles at the time of the attack or at any of the locations mentioned.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to Carlisle CID. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
