Police hunt naked man in Maryport

[P]olice are investigating a report of a man exposing himself in Maryport in the early hours of this morning (8th February).

The incident took place at around 12:40am, where the man exposed himself to a woman. The male was naked, except for a blue beanie hat.

This is the fourth such incident since December 2016:

  • On Friday 23 December 2016 at Crerar Close, Maryport, man exposed himself to a woman.
  • On Thursday 29 December 2016 at Crerar Close, Maryport, man exposed himself to a woman.
  • On Tuesday 10 January 2017 at Crerar Close, Maryport, man exposed himself to a woman.
  • On Wednesday 08 February 2017 at Crerar Close, Maryport, man exposed himself to a woman.

In each incident the man was described as wearing a blue beanie hat.

Inspector Richard Smillie said: “No one has been approached during any of these incidents, but it is obviously very shocking for those who have seen him. It is completely unacceptable and we are working hard to trace the man responsible.

“I would urge anyone who has any information that may help our investigation to get in touch.”
