Boy, 15, admits stabbing teenager in Penrith

[A] BOY aged 15 has admitted stabbing another teenager during an incident in Penrith.

Two charges were put to the youth when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (THURS).

He pleaded guilty to one count of unlawfully and maliciously wounding the victim, who was aged 17 at the time, with intent to do him grievous bodily harm. The 15-year-old – who can’t be identified because of his age – also admitted a second charge of having an offensive weapon – a knife – in a public place.

The crimes both relate to an incident in the Wetheriggs Lane area of Penrith on September 9 last year.

The boy wore a hooded top and jogging bottoms for a court hearing, in front of Judge Peter Davies, which lasted 15 minutes.

The case was adjourned and sentence will passed in due course.

In the meantime the boy was remanded on conditional bail by Judge Davies.
