[A] MAN and a woman facing child sex charges will go on trial later this year.
The woman, aged in her 40s, faces three allegations. At Carlisle Crown Court today (MON) she pleaded not guilty to two alleged sex assaults on a child.
She also – along with the man, who is aged in his 50s – denied causing or inciting a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
In addition, the man entered a plea of not guilty to an allegation of sexually assaulting a child.
A trial will now take place at the crown court, and is due to start on July 31.
It is estimated this will last up to five days.
In the meantime the man and woman – who can’t be identified for legal reasons – were each granted bail by Judge Barbara Forrester.
