[T]he accolades just keep stacking up for Waternook, a ‘superluxe’ holiday home on the shores of Ullswater.
It has now been named in the Times’ top list of Britain’s Best homes.
It comes just months after the Sunday Times named it in its ultimate A-list hideaway of the top 12 party pads in Britain.
The holiday home – where guests have their very own 26-acres of private grounds and half-a-mile of private shoreline – is let by Windermere-based Lakelovers and is consistently being included in ultimate A-list hideaways.
Owner Dominic Gordon bought the 17th Century home in 2012 with a dream to create one of the most exclusive destinations in the UK where families and friends can come together to escape, relax and indulge – and he has done just that.
Up to 20 guests can stay at this luxury Lake District holiday cottage on the shores of Ullswater and hosts with the most can even arrive at this idyllic kingdom by yacht or helicopter.
And, there are plenty of places to relax and indulge thanks to thebeautiful mezzanines, the cinema room, bar and even a hot tub overlooking the grounds of the glamorous estate.
“We are thrilled to have featured again by The Times as one of the top luxury places to stay in Great Britain”, says Dominic.
“We go to extraordinary lengths for our discerning guests ensuring every stay is completely bespoke to their needs.
“As part of this service we are proud to showcase our “Luxury Concierge Service” range where guests can select anything from private helicopter tours to beauty treatments and outdoor adventure.”
It’s been a great start to the year for Dominic and Waternook after a storming 2016, which saw the home listed in the Sunday Times’ top 12 holiday cottages in Britain.
While, it also scooped the crown of “Best Self Catering” in the 2016 Cumbria Tourism Awards.
And, it was handed the gong for best wedding venue and the best luxury self-catering accommodation in the Lux Venue Awards 2016.
And, in the latest list published by The Times, Waternook is featured alongside unique holiday homes, including Spitbank Fort, Hampshire – an actual fort in the Solent. And, the Netherwood Estate in Worcestershire, which has its own private steam train.
The beautifully refurbished home is let through Lakelovers and Paul Liddell, managing director of Lakelovers, says he is not surprised that Waternook keeps racking up the awards.
“Waternook is a magnificent property, surrounded by superb scenery, making it a perfect Lake District holiday cottage for a great get-together, wedding or special occasion and we are very pleased for Dominic and Waternook,” says Paul.
“But, I am not surprised at its latest accolade, since it is regarded as one of the most prestigious self catering properties, not only in The English Lake District, but in the British Isles.”
