Three hurt in Carlisle house blaze

At 2:52am today, Wednesday 22 February firefighters were called to a report of a fire in a bedroom in a house on Merith Avenue, Carlisle.

The bedroom was well alight.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters, four wearing breathing apparatus, used two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

“The ambulance service was asked to attend to check three casualties for smoke inhalation.”
