Firefighters tackle Barrow blaze

[A]t 2:29pm today, Tuesday 7 March firefighters were called to a building fire in Buccleuch Road, Barrow-in-Furness.

The fire involved a derelict building of complex layout.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Five fire engines have been called to attend for water supply.

“Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have been committed to the building and one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera is currently in use.

“This incident will be updated when more information becomes available.”
