Cockermouth’s Trout Hotel has been awarded the VisitEngland Gold Award. The Crown Street hotel has jumped up in the ratings this year, after the national awarding body recognised that it consistently offers customers the ‘best of the best’ in terms of the quality of its bedrooms, bathrooms, food and cleanliness levels.
The Trout Hotel previously held a VisitEngland Silver Award, before having its latest accolade bestowed upon it. Its new Gold Award, coupled with its excellent four-star status, means the Trout Hotel is now honoured nationwide as a provider of top quality in all areas and services.
VisitEngland’s star ratings system is used to measure all hotels and guest accommodation in England. Its Gold and Silver Awards are awarded to only the most exceptional of accommodation providers in the country.
Sue Eccles, Managing Director of the Trout Hotel, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised once again by such a prestigious national body. Everybody at the hotel is absolutely delighted by the award and its a lovely feeling seeing all our hard-work and effort being acknowledged.”
Relaxed and family friendly, the privately owned Trout Hotel is renowned for its stylish decor, beautiful riverside gardens and ideal central location. Nestled next door to the birth place of William Wordsworth, the hotel prides itself on providing exceptional locally sourced produce and an extensive yet perfectly curated drinks list.
