Man suffers cardiac arrest on Windermere street

Windermere 2[T]he Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to Windermere at 9:30am today after a man aged in his 40s suffered a cardiac arrest while walking in the street.

GNAAS responded to a request for assistance from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).

NWAS and police had commenced CPR and restarted the man’s heart.

The GNAAS aircraft landed at a nearby school and the doctor-led aircrew put the patient into a medically induced coma before he was flown to hospital in Carlisle.
