Firefighters tackle Carlisle house blaze

[A]t 12:05pm today, Wednesday 15 March firefighters were called to Millholme Avenue, Carlisle to a fire involving the ground floor of a two storey house.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “One hose reel was used to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging to check the area.

“One casualty was transferred to hospital by ambulance, believed to have been suffering from the effects of smoke.”
