Carlisle road reopen after crash

Bridge Street in Carlisle has reopened after a road traffic collision.

Police were called today at 2.54pm following a two vehicle road traffic collision.

The road heading towards Hardwicke Circus was closed.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 2:47pm firefighters were called to a report of a road traffic collision on Bridge Street.

“One casualty was released from the one car involved by firefighters using specialist equipment.

“The casualty, a female, was taken to hospital by ambulance.”
