A MAN who sexually assaulted two teenage girls has been spared an immediate prison sentence.
Mohammed Waris Ali, 46, committed the offences while living in Egremont.
Carlisle Crown Court heard Ali grabbed a 15-year-old female’s bottom, leaving her “extremely concerned” about his criminal conduct.
Ali also grabbed a 16-year-old girl in a similar fashion in two separate occasions, causing her to become “distressed”, and tried to grab her breast.
Ali, a chef by trade who has since moved to the North East, denied the allegations, which occurred between late 2015 and early 2016.
But after a trial at Carlisle Crown Court, he was found guilty of committing three sexual assaults, and also one attempted sexual assault charge.
He was sentenced today (MON) by Recorder Michael Murray, who suspended a nine-month jail term for two years.
Ali, of Normandy Road, Middlesbrough, was given a 25-day rehabilitation activity requirement. He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely, and must sign the sex offenders’ register for seven years.
