Police name woman who died in Kendal house fire

[P]OLICE have named a woman who died in a house fire in Kendal as Kathleen Holme, 67, of Stramongate, Kendal.

A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the fire at an address in Stramongate in Kendal in the early hours of yesterday morning (26 March 2017) has been released on bail.

A 67-year-old woman who resides at the address suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary following the fire. However, she subsequently died.

Officers arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He has now been bailed until 14 May 2017 as the investigation into the fire continues.

Officers are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident at this time.
