Carlisle woman hurt in Loweswater fall

Callout_GavelFellArea_CopyrightCockermouthMRT_OnlyToBeUsedInRelationToThisIncident_017016_03On Sunday afternoon Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team were called out to attend to a 64-year-old lady from Carlisle who had slipped on wet ground and sustained an ankle injury whilst out walking with friends in the area of Black Crag near Loweswater.

The injured lady was treated at the scene by one of the team’s doctors and then stretchered a short distance the North West Air Ambulance, which was able to land nearby.

The casualty was then transported by Helimed 75 to the Cumberland Infirmary.

Twenty two members of Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team attended the incident which lasted almost 3 hours.
