[T]he latest recruit to Burnetts’ Agribusiness and Commercial Property teams bridges both sectors, putting Mrs Megan Richardson in an ideal position to support diversifying farmers as well as other agricultural and commercial property clients.
Megan, 27, has joined Burnetts from Swinburne Maddison LLP in Durham and is returning to her family roots in Cumbria. She will be based at Burnetts’ Rosehill office.
“In my career so far, I’ve enjoyed working on projects that combine commercial property and agricultural aspects,” says Megan. “My rural background and interests – plus the fact that my grandparents are dairy farmers – mean that I understand the challenges farming businesses are facing and I’m keen to provide the specialist support they need. Burnetts has a great reputation across the north of England for both commercial property and agricultural work so I’m delighted to be part of both teams.”
The rapidly expanding Agribusiness and Property teams are led by Richard Miller who said, “Megan’s background and her combined experience are an ideal fit for many of our clients and her existing connections and growing reputation as an expert in her chosen fields will be an attraction. Agricultural and commercial property clients are increasingly business savvy when it comes to choosing their advisers so Megan is going to be a great asset for both teams and for the firm as a whole.”
Megan Richardson and her husband live near Dalston and their interests are very much focused on the outdoors. Megan has completed the Great North Run several times, enjoys fell walking with her border terrier and is planning to be part of the Burnetts cycling team as her next challenge. The plan is to cycle more or less from coast to coast, connecting the company’s offices in Newcastle, Carlisle, Penrith and Cockermouth.
