[R]heged, which sits at the gateway to the North lakes, has revealed its brand new filling station, following an ambitious refurbishment.
The centre, which is also home to a cinema, arts centre, food-hall and café, has developed the new filling station in line with the Westmorland Family’s principles of proper, local food and community.
The filling station is much more than a fuel stop, and much of the food is handmade onsite and the shop is stocked with many producers from across Cumbria. Weary travellers and hungry families can visit the deli counter and enjoy artisan bread, giant scotch eggs and handmade pies, or try the hot counter which offers pies using beef and lamb from Rheged’s own farm. Artisan baker More? provides freshly baked breads, delivered each morning while the patisserie counter is cake heaven with macarons, operas, and other sweet treats.
Joshua Jackson, Operations Manager said “We’re delighted with the new look filling station and forecourt and believe we’re strong contenders for Cumbria’s most beautiful filling station With the unrivalled beauty of the Lakes, plus our fantastic food and forecourt offer, we hope to welcome lots of visitors, popping in for some delicious snacks and a rest on their journey.
“Our farm shop is bountiful with the finest Cumbrian produce, from ales and spirits to biscuits and breads. We’ve got some fantastic breakfast and lunch deals too, so there’s something for everyone.”
